About Me

Who I am.

Søren here (said like SOAR-en.)

I'm an artist, polymath, writer, reader, researcher, antiquarian, gardener, and herbalist living in a rural cottage on the East Coast of the U.S.

I joined the ranks of late-diagnosed autistic adults in August 2019 and realized that I was nonbinary six months later. Fall 2021 I found out I am ADHD, the "primarily inattentive type." And this year, 2023, I learned that my brain is also cyclothymic. It's been quite the revelation, learning about all this.

I like to joke now that I'm on three different spectrums! Autism, bipolar, and genderfluid. Finding the neurodivergent community is one of the best things that's ever happened to me.

Currently, I freelance as a technical ghostwriter, and I moonlight as a self-employed fine artist and an antique seller (you can see my Etsy shop here.)

My role models are Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, Keanu Reeves, Emily Dickinson, Jim Carrey, Simon Sinek, Richard Ayoade, and Bae Doona.

When I'm not writing for this blog or working, you can find me enjoying foreign films and TV shows, testing recipes, chatting with friends online, finishing up my latest painting, or out enjoying nature.

With this site, I hope to inform, educate, encourage, and enlighten my neurodivergent readers and their loved ones. Living a neuro-different life can be challenging, but it can also be (in my experience) an extremely rewarding, illuminating experience full of lifelong joys.

Cheers!
